With search engines, advertisers typically bid onkeyword phrases relevant to their target market. Content sites commonly charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system.
Pay Per Click Promotion is the most cost effective method for driving targeted traffic to your site. You can control how much a visitor costs. You pay a certain amount for each time a pay per click search engine sends you a visitor.
Most strategic advertising in the web
Performance based
Pay Per Click visitors are not random people clicking on just any web site. The Pay Per Click search engine provides them with information about your online business before they click. In short, you will receive only visitors who are really interested in what YOU have to offer.

Importance:

fast result
campaigns are easy to create
see results in just days
flexible
fast turn around
accountable
will able to reduce your cost per acquisition and increase your return on investment

How anchor text boosts your search engine rankings

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 169px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pL_qcznwrUs/Sginu2TVVoI/AAAAAAAAARg/ecPz6PrnxF0/s320/anchor-text.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334698181912778370" />Anchor text is the hyperlinked words on a web page - the words you click on when you click a link.

Here's an example, reciprocal links, in which "reciprocal links" is the anchor text.

Anchor text usually gives your visitors useful information about the content of the page you're linking to.

Here's why anchor text is so important...

It tells search engines what the page is about. Used wisely, it boosts your rankings in search engines, especially in Google.

If you use "click here" as the words people are going to click on, you're telling people the page is about the subject "click here". If you use "Part 2" as the anchor text, your telling the search engines the page is discussing "part 2".

You wouldn't want to rank highly for "click here" or "Part 2".

Anchor text is so important that it's possible for a page to appear in the top 10 in Google's search results for a phrase which isn't mentioned anywhere on the page.

Some blog publishers have fun using "Google bombing" to get pages ranked highly for humorous phrases. If the phrase is obscure, only a handful of links will win the phrase a No.1 ranking. If it's highly competitive, hundreds or thousands of links might be needed.

[UPDATE: In January, 2007, Google created a new algorithm which reduced the impact of many prank Google bombs, but anchor text is still very important.]

When asking other sites to link to your site, it's a good idea to provide them with the HTML code ready to cut and paste into their page. That way, you choose the anchor text.

However, if your site is all about purple widgets, you don't want only "purple widgets" to be used as the phrase in every link to your site. Over-optimizing like that would create an unnatural pattern.

You can use anchor text in:

* External links - links from other sites
* Internal links - links on your pages
* Navigation maps
* Links on your main page. A very important spot.

Remember that real live humans will read your links as well as search engines, so the words in your anchor text need to make sense!

What's Next After Web 2.0

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pL_qcznwrUs/SPgijp4v2aI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/Jk23ELKcb6Q/s320/web20image.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257990560889690530" />As the world financial crisis has gotten gradually worse over the past few weeks, I've been pondering what this means for the Web. ReadWriteWeb as a publication focuses on technology - web products and trends - rather than business and VC happenings. So with the exception of one of our feature writers Bernard Lunn, who has written a number of great posts on how entrepreneurs can survive this period, we've generally kept out of the Credit Crisis discussion thus far.

But we're clearly now at a point where the financial problems of the world will have a big impact on where Web Technology is headed. Indeed, it looks like we've arrived at one of those giant inflexion points - where one Web era is usurped by another.

Of course this last happened when Web 2.0 was coined by O'Reilly Media in about 2004. Luckily not long before that ReadWriteWeb was born (early 2003). So ReadWriteWeb has been documenting Web 2.0 ever since. Over the past couple of years, we've been focusing on other, perhaps more meaningful, trends - Semantic Web, recommendation technologies, web sites becoming web services, Mobile Web and more.

Anchor Text

Anchor text is highlighted words on a page that link to another web page or resource. Clicking on the text, called hypertext, loads the linked resource in the user's browser. Links are created using the Hypertext Mark-up Language's (HTML) anchor element:

This is a hyperlink

The hypertext is the text that occurs between the angle brackets. It would generally appear as: This is a hyperlink in a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla.
The word hypertext was coined by Ted Nelson who, in the 1960s designed the first ever hypertext system called project Xanadu. Nelson was inspired by a 1945 essay by Vanneva Bush titled: As We May Think. In it Bush envisaged a machine where the user could navigate a non-linear path through a trail of documents linked by concepts represented by words or phrases.

While anchor text tells a search engine nothing directly about the contents of the linked page it is used as a convenient heuristic. A heuristic is a rule of thumb that is normally effective in dealing with a given situation but does not absolutely guarantee the desired results. They are shortcuts where a much more detailed and complicated analysis would otherwise be necessary.

In this case the heuristic is to let humans evaluate the content of the target page. The anchor text should then represent in some way the contents of that page. You can think of it as a vote for your page with those keywords. In an ideal world it should be possible to build quite an effective search engine using anchor text alone. Indeed Oliver McBryan who first proposed the idea at the World Wide Web conference in 1994 used this method on his search engine, the WWW Worm.

There are a couple of pitfalls. Firstly many interesting and useful web pages don't have relevant inbound-links. Secondly SEO experts can use this knowledge to subvert a search engine to favor their pages by creating inbound links for popular keyword from other sites under their control. This is a form of search engine spam.

Web Page Optimization

There are aspects of the optimization process that gain and lose importance. Content optimization is no exception to this. Through the many algorithm changes that take place each year, the weight given to the content on your pages rises and falls. Currently incoming links appear to supply greater advantage than well-written and optimized content.

The goal for anyone following this series is to build and optimize a website that will rank well on the major search engines and, more difficult and far more important, hold those rankings through changes in the search engine algorithms. While currently having a bunch of incoming links from high PageRank sites will do well for you on Google you must consider what will happen to your rankings when the weight given to incoming links drops, or how your website fares on search engines other than Google that don’t place the same emphasis on incoming links.

While there are many characteristics of your content that are in the algorithmic calculations, there are a few that consistently hold relatively high priority and thus will be the focus of this article. These are:

1. Heading Tags
The heading tag (for those who don’t already know) is code used to specify to the visitor and to the search engines what the topic is of your page and/or subsections of it. You have 6 predefined heading tags to work with ranging from H1 to H6.

2. Special Text (bold, colored, etc.)
“Special text” (as it is used here) special is any content on your page that is set to stand out from the rest. This link basically says "The site at the other end of this link feels that my site is important enough to link to, and I feel that their site is important enough that I am willing to let visitors leave my site via this link."

A reciprocal link involves an element of trust. Few Webmasters have the time or patience to constantly monitor the sites that link back to them, so you are trusting the other site to maintain the link on their site, and not bury it under other information or delete it during a site upgrade. Trust me, I have experienced both situations, and it can be frustrating when your own links page is in order.

A reciprocal link is not a quick fix to bring more traffic. I have seen sites with over 100 banner and text links on a single page -- now how much traffic do you think the sites featured on that page were getting from those links? I visited some of the linked sites, and most offered the same scenario: a cobbled together mishmash of links and graphics, many of them broken or out of date, none benefiting the relevant sites.

Webcam ultra Microsoft LifeCam Show

Photo Swap

Share and swap photos in real time with your friends and family using Windows Live Messenger—right in the video call window!

Windows Live™ Call Button

It's simple to start video calls.

    * Navigation maps
    * Links on your main page. A very important spot.

Remember that real live humans will read your links as well as search engines, so the words in your anchor text need to make sense!

Web Page Content Optimization

The content of your website is important for the search engines as they consider your website's relevancy and importance based on both meta tags and content in relation to the important keywords. There are several guidelines you should follow:

Include keywords in text

You should make sure that all those keywords you have included in your meta tags and on which searches you wish to come up are included in the text of your site.

Consider 5-20% density of the keywords in text

You should make sure that about 5% to 20% of your text is keywords. Be careful not to overcrowd your text with keywords cause you might get penalized. Note that you should have the most important keyword(s) in the beginning of the page as thus they are given more weight.

Mind the formatting of the text

Formatting (bolding, titles, etc.) is also important to show the search engines that certain words are more important than others. Thus, if you bold your keywords in your text, they are perceived as more important than other words and thus your text becomes more relevant to these keywords.

Add regularly relevant content to site

You should make sure that you add relevant content to your website. This content addition invites Google to visit your site more often and increase its relevance and importance.

Content Optimization

HOW IMPORTANT ARE RECIPROCAL LINKS?

In my opinion reciprocal links are second only to search engines as a way to get traffic to ones site.

Reciprocal links are links with other Web sites, preferably sites that are related or complimentary to the theme of your website. The concept is simple: you link to site, and that sites webmaster returns the favour and links back to your site.

This method of traffic building is very important and it's free, it's simply a matter of contacting the right webmasters and getting the right links. However a full blown 'link-hunt' can be time consuming but the benefits it can bring are huge. Among them are:

Highly targeted visitors (if you link well)

Better search engine rankings (if you link well and have many)

The traffic they generate is free and ongoing even when you sleep!

Since the visitors that come from related Web sites are highly targeted, you have a much better chance of selling them your product or service, because they have come to your site through a link on a related website so it's likely they would also be interested in what your site has to offer.

Also it is worth mentioning that it is very unlikely that once your link is placed on someone's site that it will be taken down. This means that once a link is up, chances are it will be sending you free visitors for a long time, free visitors = free sales = more profit.

Reciprocal linking is my personal favorite form of marketing, even though a good Search Engine campaign will bring in much more traffic than any number of links can. Reciprocal linking is ideal for sites just starting out or who have little to no budget as you can see the visitors (AND SALES) coming in within days of contacting webmasters for links.

Apart from getting visitors from the linking site itself, more recently some major search engines are using the number of links to a site as an important factor in establishing a site's relevancy. The idea behind this is that the more links a site has, the more popular it must be. Look at it as natural selection for Web sites. Also this method of using the number of links as a relevancy factor helps the search engines defeat gateway/doorway pages. Why would anyone link to 'bare-bones' keyword filled doorway page? - Simple answer - they wouldn't. And the search engines know this.

Google is the most prominent search engine to use this method, and it has brought me a lot of visitors to my hobby site. Hobby site? you may ask. I am also the webmaster of www.irishboxingnews.com and have been for 2+ years.

The last time I checked on Altavista I had 169 sites linking to Irish Boxing News.com, and I am ranked number 3 on Google for the search term 'boxing news'. I get about 25 - 40 visitors a day from Google for this search term alone.

Before Google introduced the number of links to a site as a relevancy factor I wasn't even in the top 20, now since I have so many quality sites linking to IrishBoxingNews.com the googlebot feels I deserve position 3.

More search engines are likely to come around to this method of ranking as Google has shown with its tremendous growth that its a very effective method of establishing relevancy.

I think you now can see why reciprocal linking is so important. My IrishBoxingNews.com site gets about 150 visitors a day, not bad for a site without a budget plus it's a niche information site, and doesn't have broad appeal, anyway most of them come from search engines but about 50-60 come from links on other sites. Just Multiply them numbers by 4 or 5 for a site with mass appeal like an Internet Marketing site and you can really start to see the power of developing links with other sites.

Google Chrome

The ongoing internet browser war welcomes its new contestant: famous internet giant Google just released beta version of its upcoming internet browser, which is called Chrome.

In the year 2006, person from Google said that they have no plans for releasing their own browser. Recent events show that this was not true. As said in 33-paged presentation, made like a comic book, Google Chrome is very different from any popular browser. It use WebKit engine (same as Safari's), and it was written from scratch to work flawlessly with complex content like JavaScript and modern web applications.

Features that make Chrome distinguish itself from monsters like Mozilla Firefox or Opera are simple but truly amazing.

First, every tab is an independed process. This makes memory management a lot easier, eliminates the reasons for memory leakage. Each tab is on its own - if one tab crashes there will be no impact on other tabs. This is very useful feature, because if you are working with many tabs at once, you may lose important information if entire browser goes down.

Second, it has revolutionary JavaScript engine, which is made to work even faster than in the fastest browsers. Multithreaded page loading is another key to success, because it is very disturbing to wait with a blank screen for some JavaScripts to load: now all elements are loaded simultaneously, not one after another. In the built-in task manager you can see what tab eats more memory or CPU time than others, and effectively manage your tabs to reduce unneeded memory or CPU usage.

Dew camera prototype

Recently a lot of newest, coolest and surprising gadgets have been presented at Hanover’s exhibition in Germany. Novelties were presented first of all for the large companies and businessmen. A new camera was one of the representatives at this meeting.

The name that given to the gadget - the NEC Dew Camera - reflects really its small sizes.

Of course, it amazed the present people and there was no doubt that this gadget brought in itself a portion of admire and surprise. A portable camera reminded a jeweler for a neck. Nevertheless the main task was not to decorate but embody the best moments of a daily life. This camera uses voice recognition and reproduces in the best light gestures.

It guarantees your best moments in life would be reproduced in a shape of pictures and videos. I haven’t find any information – does the dew camera use any other devices to connect with or store the data it have inside or it recharges and uses own possibility for storage. You couldn’t think where you should place this camera at a party or any other even. Just enjoy the time you spend with your friend and family. I think it would be nice to bring it, and what is your point of view about this gadget? P.S.

As an addition for the camera you can use is terminal device for reproduction of your recent files – the viewer display. Almost all smartphones and laptops nowadays have Wi-Fi built-in; it gives them possibility to connect to the Internet wirelessly in one of the many existing Hot Spots - places where the Wi-Fi Access Points are placed. However, requirements in access points limit the spreading of Wi-Fi, mainly because they must be purchased, manually placed and configured. Scientists from Boston University worked on this problem and found a solution - to unite LED light bulbs with wireless internet access points!

Wi-Fi, as many other wireless communication services, depends on radio-frequency signals. Researchers from Boston believe that this is old-fashioned now, and offer another signal bearer - light! LED in lamps will be multifunctional - it will serve as a source of light and as an access point for wireless Internet - both functions will be done simultaneously. This opens a wide range of possibilities to be connected to Internet everywhere you go - every lamp will provide your PDA or smartphone with Internet connection. This project is revolutionary mainly because there it can work on the existing power lines with no need for investments in an expensive infrastructure. Just imagine that all devices in your office will no longer need cords and wires - all data will be managed via illumination lamps! With speed up to 10 Mbps, it is a real alternative to Wi-Fi - all you need to have is a source of energy and a special lamp, that's all.

This is not a first try of using light as data carrier. It is used in optic cables for awhile, so advantages of light are widely known. However, combining it with illumination lamps has its disadvantages too. First - it needs in direct visibility between LED and sensor. Second - the flickering of light may be harmful to our eyes. Scientists believe that these problems can be fixed and are working on the solutions. US National Science Foundation already granted them 18.5 million dollars, so this project was considered very promising. If it will be finished, it can bring wireless connectivity to a whole new level.

Photosynthesis Solar Tree Concept Is the World's Best Looking Solar Gadget Charger

Great concept from designer Vivien Muller for a modular, Lego-like little bonsai tree with 54 mini photovoltaic panels as leaves to soak up juice from the sun and charge your gadgets. After all, it is the source of all monetization revenue. For instance, your private advertisers will purchase ads because of your site’s reputation/relevance and particularly because of the number of pageviews you can offer.

The number of clicks on all your Google Adsense ads are largely dependent on the type and amount of traffic you have. Get a large number of targeted visitors daily and you are likely to receive a lot of clicks and Adsense income.

Google PageRank, Technorati or Alexa Rankings are pretty figures you can use to show off your web site’s position within a community knowledgeable about these metrics but all of them are meaningless outside of that specific context or community.

If you have a website with lots of traffic, you don’t need a high Google PageRank to sell text links. You don’t need an impressive Alexa Rank because you already have actual statistics to prove that you receive a substantial amount of visitors everyday.

You don’t need Technorati’s confirmation of your worth because you are already pulling in traffic that converts into income, social fame and readers as well.

You don’t need all these three-party validations because if you have traffic, you essentially have a marketable golden egg and an attractive online income source. Remember a simple truth: The more people visit your website, the faster it grows and the greater the potential for profit.
To write about making money online through websites and blogs and not to write about traffic building is just counter-intuitive.

How to create more TRAFFIC to your websites?

Step1
First I'm assuming you have a website, you've submitted it to search engines, and directories, and are still trying to get traffic.

Step2
Whenever a new site is created, it takes a long time to get it indexed. Wordpress is quick. If you are thinking of creating a website or blog, I say wordpress. This will get your site indexed a lot quicker. If your site has a site map, it will also get indexed quicker.

Step3
Next, do the article thing. Write as many articles as you can and plaster them all over the web. It should enough that when you google your own name you can see all your articles on the first page.

Step4
Now for a press release. Most people don't do this enough. If you have a business, or a website and there is something really great happening share it. Not enough people use this feature. A press release should be used to announce a new business, announce a new addition to a business, talk about some event, or charity etc. So whenever you have something newsworthy, write a press release and submit it to all the press release sites.

Step5
Lastly, go to forums. Make your profile have a signature, with your url. Forums are sticklers about advertising, but most sites will let you advertise your url on your signature. So the more times you post something, the more advertising and back links your website is getting. One note of caution, most forums won't let you post affiliate urls, so either domain forward them, or link cloak them.

Increase your Traffic!
http://www.ehow.com/how_2135713_boost-traffic-website.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art
http://www.doshdosh.com/how-to-build-traffic-to-your-website-kicking-off-a-new-series-of-articles/

Web 2.0

Here are some of the definitions of Web 2.0 floating about:

the web as platform

the underlying philosophy of relinquishing control

glocalization ("making global information available to local social contexts and giving people the flexibility to find, organize, share and create information in a locally meaningful fashion that is globally accessible")

an attitude not a technology

when data, interface and metadata no longer need to go hand in hand

action-at-a-distance interactions and ad hoc integration

power and control via APIs

giving up control and setting the data free

While at first glance some of those definitions may be contradictory, we can distill from them certain characteristics of Web 2.0.

Web 2.0 is social, it’s open (or at least it should be), it’s letting go of control over your data, it’s mixing the global with the local. For example, the text "SEO case studies" indicates to visitors that they can expect to see content about case studies pertaining to SEO if they visit the link. This pattern of usage has been applied in search engine algorithms to enhance the relevance of the "target" or the "landing page" URL for the keywords appearing within the anchor text.
Anchor Text Enhances the Relevance of the Target Page

Common misunderstanding of the concept

Webmasters sometimes tend to misunderstand anchor text. Instead of turning appropriate words inside of a sentence into a clickable link, webmasters frequently insert extra text such as this:

Today our president has broken another treaty. To know more, click here.

The best and more concise way of coding that would be:

Today our president has broken another treaty.

This proper method of linking is beneficial not only to users, but also to the webmaster as anchor text holds significant weight in search engine rankings. Most search engine optimization experts recommend against using "click here" to designate a link.

Content Optimization

Content Is King
Content is king. More than a truism, the phrase is a mantra. Content is the stuff people are looking for on a website. A commitment to developing and deploying great page, document and site content is a commitment to good SEO.
Comprised of the most common site elements, content is the most effective tool SEOs have to work with. Loosely defined as All Things On-Page, the term “content” would include titles, tags, text, in-site links and out-bound links. In some SEO practices, the acronym ATOP is used to refer to the hands-on work environment.Content optimization is where creative art gets mixed into the webmaster science of SEO.
In the SEO process, content optimization describes most of the hands-on work done to make unique documents place well in search engine rankings. For the purposes of search engine optimization; content either exists, has to be created, or both.
Sometimes optimization of existing site content only requires the SEO to perform minor textual tweaks. Sometimes content does not exist and has to be written by the SEO. Frequently, SEOs come across pre-existing page content that needs to be totally rewritten or redeveloped.

The object is two-fold. No one knows for sure, but one source estimates there are 29.7 billion pages on the Web. That's a lot of competition when trying to get eyeballs to your web site.
According to a recent study of international search engine use, 95% of Internet users use general search engines. So getting your site to perform on one of the top 3 U.S. search engines -- Google, Yahoo and MSN -- is pretty important.

The Goal
The goal of search engine optimization is to place your website as high as possible in search engine listings. Most surfers do not scroll down through search engine results, which is why you need to be as high up as possible.
Ultimately, you want to have your site listed in the top 10 or top 20 search engine results. This counts for all search engines, and especially for search engines that you would not be able sponsor your way into, even if you had the budget.

The Process
The goal of SEO is to increase the amount of traffic that is led to your site. One way to do this is by OPTIMIZING the content of your website page by page.
There are several methods and opinions about how a web page should be optimized, and much will depend on the type of site, its content, purpose and competition, if relevant. But in general search engine optimization relies heavily on the proper use of keywords and keyphrases that describe the site's content.
Keywords should first appear is in the TITLE section of the page's source code. They should also appear in the META description section where the page is accurately described by repeating the keywords. The META keywords section will also contain keywords or keyphrases describing the site's product, services or content.

Reciprocal Linking

Reciprocal links help you in two ways
Reciprocal links are arranged when two web sites agree to link to each other.

Reciprocal links are also known as "link swaps", "link exchanges" and "link partners".

Reciprocal links help you in two ways:

1. They increase your web site traffic, from people who click on the links.

2. Reciprocal links also play a major role in boosting your rankings in search engines.

Warning: Late in 2005, Google's Matt Cutts made it clear that it's possible to "overdo" reciprocal links. Getting good, solid, reciprocal links should be part of your links strategy, not your total marketing strategy.

When ranking sites, the major search engines take into account the number and quality of the sites that link to you.

Persuading good quality, relevant sites to link to you can be tedious, time-consuming and frustrating. Here are some tips to increase your chances of success.

One way to find link partners is to do searches in major search engines such as Google and Yahoo! to find sites which complement yours but are not direct competitors.

Many sites also link to direct competitors, figuring that the benefits outweigh any disadvantages.

The 500,000 GB MP3 Player

The 500,000 GB MP3 player sounds possible now:
Can you even imagine an MP3 player with a 500,000 GB capacity? It could mean 500,000 GB on a single chip and inch square. The Glasgow scientists worked to create the molecule-sized switch that’s at the heart of it all. They worked to make the molecule-sized switch that would be in the middle of the gadget. They have already found the way to increase the data storage capabilities that is a great breakthrough. The scientists created a functional nanocluster that includes two electron donating groups; and are positioned precisely 0.32 nm apart. Thus, they compose up-to-date model of molecular switching device. The molecule sized switches would provide the increase of the data storage capabilities up to 4 Petabytes per square inch. Their conceptual idea points the fact that everything is possible. The switches work on carbon, the whole system will become more flexible, because they can be built into plastic chips and there will be no need for the silicone.

Netbook-M912V

Netbook-M912V is the ultimate choice for the next generation of handheld PC.
